Baruch Shem (Blessed be the Name)

Shema Yisrael Adonai Eloheinu Adonai Echad.
Hear O Israel, The Lord our God is One!

Lord God, I raise my hands to You and sing, for You are the song within me and You alone are worthy! Your Spirit jumps inside me and my heart feels as though I were a kid again, falling in love for the first time. My stomach is somewhere around my throat and I can't keep a straight thought in my head! O my God, my Father, my King, the world seems so much more alive and solid things I touch so much more solid, more real when I call on You.

In the name of our Savior, Yeshua, Jesus Christ, Who is my brother, my God, my lover and my Lord, I pray. Thank You Holy One of Israel, Thank You! Thank You for the breath within us, for the gift of sight - with our eyes and within our heart! Thank You, gracious and merciful God, thank You for my brothers and sisters. I pray O God, give us strength and renew us for Your Will minute by minute. Fill Your servants with Your Spirit and with Your love overflowing! Reassurance us, grant us Your peace, encouragement and presence in the midst of strife.

You don't promise us ease, but victory. You don't promise us happiness, but love. And that is enough! It is enough indeed! We are never alone in the deepest of our fears, in the most desolate of our times. You are with us, making Your joy shine out like so many stars of the night amongst the heap of griefs in which we lie. We give You thanks for Who You Are, in all of our circumstances. By Your strength and by Your Will, we stand up and give You praise!

You are our God! Rejoice to the Lord our God!
Amen!

This prayer was inspired by Mark Schultz, Andrew Harding, Anne Rice, my wife, Aiko and of course, our gracious God, Jesus.
