Brennan Manning is one of my top five favorite writers, easy.In his latest book, the furious longing of God, he punches through your chest and grips you by the entrails, rips them out, puts them back in the order they were supposed to be in before you went and messed them all up in your college years, then stuffs them back with just enough suture to hold it 'em place but leaving just enough open so he can do it again when needed.
So grab a bottomless cup of tea, sit in a comfy chair and read it.
